What a music jam teaches us about listening

You don't need to play well to play together. Our full-moon jams keep reminding us that listening is the real instrument.

Once a month, we clear the floor, scatter cushions, and let whoever shows up make sound together. Some bring guitars. Some bring a shaker, or just a voice, or just their willingness to sit in the middle of it all.

The room finds its own tempo

What surprises newcomers is how little gets decided out loud. Someone starts a rhythm; someone else leaves space; a melody arrives and the room leans toward it. Nobody is in charge, and yet it holds together — because everyone is listening more than they're playing.

It turns out the same rules make for good conversations, good teams, and good days. Come find out at the next full moon — no experience required, only ears.
